Vanessa Hudgens has certainly had an active year in real estate. According to Dirt, the Spring Breakers star’s latest transaction is the sale of her condo in the historic Austin Nichols House, a Cass Gilbert-designed building located on the waterfront in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The legendary architect originally designed the building as a manufacturing plant and warehouse in 1915, according to the building’s website; it was later used as a distillery for the popular whiskey brand, Wild Turkey. The structure was one the earliest reinforced concrete warehouses in the United States and because of its rich legacy, is a designated landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.
Despite its history and location, the 669-square-foot condo netted a loss for Hudgens who bought the one-bed, one-bath abode for $983,000 and sold it this past September for $975,000. Although we do not know what Hudgens’s unit looked like when it was sold, we do know from the building’s website that standard features throughout all units include “twelve-foot loft ceilings set over chevron-laid tobacco smoked oak flooring” and kitchens featuring brushed concrete stone countertops and white matte-lacquered custom cabinets.
Redesigned from rentals to luxury condos by Morris Adjmi Architects in 2016, the building is packed with lavish amenities like a communal sundeck; a zen garden and courtyard; a fitness center; and an amenity floor with recreational and coworking space, a resident cafe and catering kitchen, children’s playroom, theater, and music rehearsal rooms.
In March, the High School Musical alum off-loaded her historic 1922 Los Feliz house built by early twentieth-century movie director Cecile B. DeMille, to Ronan Farrow and Jon Lovett. “I wanted an old home,” Hudgens previously told AD about the thoughtfully renovated house. “To me, there’s something so romantic about that, a home with character and quirks.”
